Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, YouTube – most people have heard of at least one of these services but why should businesses consider Social Media as a marketing channel?
The main reason is the popularity of these services. Social Media platforms have exploded in recent years - Facebook alone has 8.5 million users in the UK and 100 million worldwide. Clearly there is huge marketing potential in this area.
So, how can businesses benefit from Social Media marketing?
Successful social media marketing campaigns have the power to drive more traffic to your site and establish you as a recognised authority. It also provides an opportunity to promote new products and services, support offline marketing activity, and run competitions, to name a few examples. The growing relevance and importance of social media shouldn't be under-estimated by companies seeking to promote their message and interact with a target audience in a positive way.
As of 2016, I achieved 99% in my Diploma for Social Media Management and ORM (Online Reputation Course) delivered by The Shaw Academy. Through this course I've picked up lots of fantastic tips and advice in terms of social media management when it comes to marketing your business online.
